Ms FORREST question to LEADER of the GOVERNMENT in the LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL, Dr GOODWIN

Mr President, yesterday I asked a question of the Leader with regards to the provision of rural bus services.  I asked her if any rural school bus services and routes were currently under review, or due to be reviewed, and if so when, and would the outcome be publicly available.  She answered that question.

The second question was, with regards to each route and service, what criteria will be used to determine whether they are viable?  I think she might have an answer today.

ANSWER

Mr President, I thank the honourable member for Murchison for her questions.  Current guidelines require a bus service to carry 10 full‑time students on a regular basis.  The policy framework for the 2018 review is currently being developed.
