Ms FORREST question to LEADER for the GOVERNMENT in the LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL Mrs HISCUTT

QUESTION:

With regard to the State Growth North-west premises currently located at Marine Terrace in Burnie;

1. Were the specifications changed from those stated when Expressions of Interest opened late last year?

2. If so;

a. why; and 

b. will previous applicants be invited to resubmit an EOI?

ANSWER:

The specifications have not been changed since the expressions of interest was sent out in December 2018. The specification included “Driveway access area – 

Suitable for heavy vehicles (trucks and semis).  Drive through driveway is desirable”. This requirement was included for the delivery of materials such as traffic signal poles and associated controllers which are usually delivered by truck.

I would like to offer the member the opportunity to have a briefing with State Growth officers on this issue and will arrange contact with Ms Forrest’s office by the Department.
