Ms FORREST question to MINISTER for ENERGY and RENEWABLES, Mr DUIGAN
With hydro dam storage at pretty much record levels, why is it has it been necessary to run gas?
ANSWER
I am aware that the Tamar Valley Power Station has been running. I’m advised that it due to an outage at Poatina, a planned scheduled maintenance outage of a machine at Poatina [INAUDIBLE 15.08.52 p.m.] power plant south station is down and in replacement we are running the gas turbine.
Gas used for Tasmanian Demand or Trading

The follow up question to that is, has Tamar Valley Power Station using gas only been run to supply Tasmanian demand or has it been used to trade into the higher, price periods that have occurred since Basslink has been regulated?

I think I probably need to take that on notice. I don’t know that I would have that level of detail.
