I asked this question some time ago in relation to the Waratah Reservoir. Two of the four questions were not answered. I will ask those two questions.r

With regard to questions and responses I have previously received in relation to Waratah Reservoir, I asked the question:

(2) TasWater commissioned Nic Haygarth to provide a report on the historical/cultural significance of the reservoir. Why was this not publicly available? Will TasWater release the report to the community?

That question was not answered in any format.

TasWater Response:

TasWater has recently submitted a Dam Works Permit application to the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment (DPIPWE) to decommission the dam.

With regard to the referral to the Sentencing Advisory Council regarding consideration of non-fatal strangulation, in Estimates Committee hearings on November 24 in the Legislative Council Committee B hearings you stated:

I have requested that council undertake research as a matter of priority; …
I am mindful that we don't want to have a perverse outcome by having a standalone offence, which is, on the face of it, very attractive. … That is why I have handed it to the Sentencing Advisory Council to look at a range of different issues.

The Treasurer's Annual Financial Report 2019 20 notes on page 83, Regarding other liabilities, $620 million in onerous contracts relate to Hydro Tasmania's onerous contracts.

(1) Why are the onerous contracts related to Aurora not included in this line item?

(2) If the liability related to Aurora's onerous contracts is noted, where is it noted?

(3) If these have been omitted will this be corrected?

As noted in Hydro Tasmania’s recently released 2019/20 Annual Report a significant write down of generation assets was recorded due to reductions in future expected revenue. Hydro Tasmania’s overall book value declined by $219 million in 2019/20 and Hydro’s balance sheet suffered a further loss following a $249 million decline in 2018/19.
