Ms FORREST question to MINISTER for ENERGY AND RENEWABLES, Mr DUIGAN

The minister went near the next question. Has the whole-of-government business case been completed yet, noting the extension for the FID (Final Investment Decision) is some time later than what was originally expected. And, if it has been completed, will it be released publicly before the now-expected date of the FID?

ANSWER

Mr President, I thank the member for the question. No, the whole-of-state business case is a work in progress. It is a very complex task and, as I say, feeding good information into that piece of work is critical to get the best possible outcomes for Tasmania.

The government has always said it would make the whole-of-state business case public and that it is our intention to do so at a time before the FID decision is taken.

Ms Forrest - Have you got a date that you are expecting that now?

Mr DUIGAN - Look, in its original guise, in December 2024, it was a 30-day commitment, so, the whole-of-state business case would be available to be scrutinised 30 days prior to, and it would be my expectation that that will continue to be the case.
