Ms FORREST question to LEADER of the GOVERNMENT in the LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL, Mrs HISCUTT

Mr President, I still have three questions and I know others do too. This question will require me to table a list because I do not want to read it out.

With regard to the 92 tracks of the Arthur-Pieman Conservation Area (APCA) listed 1 91 in the attached list, which of the 92 listed remain open for use?

I seek leave to table this document to be incorporated into Hansard to give sense to the question.

Leave granted.

See appendix xxx page xxx (when available)

ANSWER

Mrs HISCUTT -

Current off road vehicle access settings are governed by the Sustainable Recreational Vehicle Access Report of 2012, which is an output of the APCA Management Plan 2002.

Of the 94 tracks identified in a Sustainable Recreational Vehicle Access Report 2012, 65 were in use at the time and 29 were already closed. Of the 65 in use at the time, 50 remain open. The 15 vehicle tracks that were closed were mostly due to the occurrence of Aboriginal heritage. The tracks closed were: track 225 and 226 near Sarah Anne Rocks; tracks 228 and 230 near Rebecca Lagoon; track 305 at Big Eel Creek; track 312 and 333 near Ingham Bay. Track 325 and 326/327 at Greens Point are considered one track, that is why they are together. At Greens Point Track 401 near Thornton River. Track 406 at Sandy Cape. Track 501, 502, 503 and 504 between Sandy Cape and Interview River.
